It is an educational book. While you won’t know more about surgery than your surgeon, I hope after this book you’ll know more about your options than your surgeon does (sadly). People go to few health professionals and progress stalls and they give up… but has everything been tried? Is the diagnosis correct? Could it be overlapping issues?</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">How did you come up with the title of your book?</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">When finally solving someone’s pain they would often say something along the lines of, “I thought I would have that pain the rest of my life.” So, I heard something like that often and that phrase morphed into the current title.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">What do you hope readers are able to get from reading your story?</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">With the crappy system you have to be self informed and be an advocate for yourself. I hope they understand more about their pain and are able to find ways of reducing pain or even eliminating pain.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">Do you have any advice for writers looking to get published?</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">I liked Google Docs for most of the writing so I could work on it everywhere on multiple computers and share it easily for feedback. Warning though, it doesn’t play well with Atticus if you want to switch later. I used MS Word for final formatting.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; Did we evolve? Did everything start from a big bang? These questions have been plaguing our minds for many years. Only science-minded people and clergy seem to have the answers. But do they really have any true answers? Is what we are told by science true? Is what we are told by the Church true? Or are there other better explanations for everything? Did we hitch a ride from Mars, or is that all fantasy science? Was everything Created in six twenty-four hour days, or did it all take billions of years to happen?</p><p class="has-text-align-left">The Science of God challenges your current beliefs while asking tough questions of science and of the Church. For years, Christian after Christian has attempted to argue for God and the Bible’s Creation only to fail miserably. Why is this, why is it that Christians cannot seem to win this debate? Often Christians think they are winning the debate only to find themselves at a loss to answer the real questions, and then they get mocked for their poor answers.</p><p class="has-text-align-left">Whether you are a scientist or an average Christian and want to discuss the Creation debate, The Science of God is a mandatory read for you. The Science of God takes you through the thought process to enable you to speak intelligibly about Creation, the cosmos, evolution, and astrophysics.</p><p><!--wp:paragraph {"align":"left"}-->

Browning, author of “Me Here Without You Now.” We are excited to share this insightful interview with our readers today. </span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">When did you first discover that you enjoy writing and wanted to become a published author?</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">I’ve always wanted to be a writer. I’ve always been writing. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been making up stories in my head, writing about them. Whether it was creating a tale from the beeping of an alarm clock or just daydreaming, I always had a tale to tell. But writing never seemed like a real job in my family, something that you could actually do for a living. I would tell my mom, and my dad that I wanted to write, and they’d just say, Edie, no one reads anymore, get a proper job. This led me to become an English teacher instead of trying to pursue a career in writing. </p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">I’d keep writing but for myself, I wouldn’t tell anyone about it. I guess life just happens and you put your dreams on a shelf, you know? Then last year I took a break from teaching and took a deep soul search and thought to myself, what the heck, let’s just write this thing, let’s give it a try. The worst thing that could happen was I’d write this terrible book that no one wanted to read, but I would have at least written it. I joined TikTok and announced I was writing a book to give myself the necessary push and the craziest thing happened. I went from 0 followers to over 3000 in a month and I wrote the book in no time. </p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">I found this overwhelming support from strangers that I don’t really have in real life. I guess, it’s like they always say that when you take a step on the right path, the universe just falls behind and supports you. Then just before the book came out, I also got my dream teaching job, so life has been really good to me after a couple of difficult, dark years. </p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">What is your favorite and the most challenging aspect of writing?</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">My favourite aspect of writing is – writing. I just find it so easy, relaxing, and therapeutic, really. You put so much of yourself out there and work through it as your characters are working out their drama. I just recently talked with one of my friends that I for one can’t get into gardening, for example. Everyone seems to get into gardening at some point in their life, but I just can’t. And she was talking about how she finds it so relaxing, how it takes the stress off. And I realized that’s writing for me. I can just get lost in it. </p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">The most challenging part about writing isn’t really writing, it’s marketing – talking about my book, writing about it, promoting it. I’m shocked every day as to how effortless writing stories is for me but when I need to say something about my book, write about it. It’s like I’m mining for diamonds, the words just don’t come. I would be terrible at copywriting and have the deepest respect for people who can do that. </p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">Tell us about your latest release.</span></p><div class="wp-block-image" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"><figure class="alignright size-large is-resized" style="box-sizing: inherit; display: table; float: right; margin: 0.5em 0px 0.5em 1em;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CD1VYQDV" style="background-color: transparent; box-sizing: inherit; color: #0074d9; font-weight: 700; text-decoration-line: none;"><img alt="" class="wp-image-5582" data-attachment-id="5582" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-caption="" data-image-description="" data-image-meta="{"aperture":"0","credit":"","camera":"","caption":"","created_timestamp":"0","copyright":"","focal_length":"0","iso":"0","shutter_speed":"0","title":"","orientation":"0"}" data-image-title="EB Book 1 eBook FINAL" data-large-file="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/09/eb-book-1-ebook-final-1.png?w=640" data-medium-file="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/09/eb-book-1-ebook-final-1.png?w=188" data-orig-file="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/09/eb-book-1-ebook-final-1.png" data-orig-size="1600,2560" data-permalink="https://digitalbooknook.com/?attachment_id=5582" height="2560" sizes="(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px" src="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/09/eb-book-1-ebook-final-1.png?w=640" srcset="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/09/eb-book-1-ebook-final-1.png?w=640 640w, https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/09/eb-book-1-ebook-final-1.png 1600w, https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/09/eb-book-1-ebook-final-1.png?w=94 94w, https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/09/eb-book-1-ebook-final-1.png?w=188 188w, https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/09/eb-book-1-ebook-final-1.png?w=768 768w" style="border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; height: auto; max-width: 100%; vertical-align: middle; width: 156px;" width="1600" /></a></figure></div><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">Me Here Without You Now is a love story after the love story. I think there are so many love stories out there about young people falling in love, about the first love and I wanted to write a different story. I wanted to write about what happens after the one. So, it’s about overcoming grief, getting lost in the process, and finding love again. It’s about dating in your forties when you haven’t been on the dating scene since before mobile phones and deciphering eggplant emojis in the middle of the night, getting entangled in obsessions, and losing touch with those who matter most. It’s a story about love, life, and the resilience of mothers that will hopefully make people laugh and cry simultaneously. </p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">How did you come up with the title of your book?</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">I always wanted for it to be something like Without You, because Louise has lost the love of her life, but just Without You didn’t really capture the whole setting and sounded generic. My main character moved to Finland twenty years ago to be with her husband. So, I added Here to it, because she is in this new home – here for her without him. And even before I wrote the book, I knew that I wanted to write the prequel, because if you have the whole story after this great love story, the whole referencing their story and him being gone, you, of course, have to tell about THE love story. So, that’s the reason for the now and together Me Here Without You Now. It’s a long title but I think it really captures the story. The prequel is going to be entitled just the opposite. </p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">What do you hope readers are able to get from reading your story?</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">I think in the end the book’s really about how even though grief and loss are universal; everyone has lost someone, something, and knows how that feels, healing on the other hand is unique to everyone and that’s OK. We all have different ways on how we cope with grief, and how we get over it, we’re all different and that’s OK. </p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">Who are some of your favorite authors?</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">My favourite authors are Nick Hornby, Sophie Kinsella, Alice Munro, etc. So many, really, I don’t even have a favourite genre, I’ll just as easily get lost in a romance or a thriller.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">Do you have any advice for writers looking to get published?</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">Don’t get lost in the big picture. Writing a novel can be a daunting task, and publishing one is an even greater one. Just start. Write the first chapter, the first scene. Take it one baby step at a time and you’ll see that in no time you’ll climb that mountain.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">Edie D. Browning</span> has loved getting lost in books ever since she was a little girl. At the age of 12 she wrote her first story about a family winning an ox at a raffle and thanks to her teacher’s encouragement it was actually published in the local newspaper. But as time went on, she shifted gears to teaching, helping others with their writing, and even publishing several scientific articles on topics such as early language learning and gender stereotypes in teaching. All this while, her personal dream of writing stories remained on hold. Now, Edie is returning to her first love: making up stories in her head and writing them.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">Her stories are stories about women – about love, loss, and motherhood. All universal stories that all women go through but all in their unique ways. </p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">A reader at first, Edie likes nothing more than curling with a book. She doesn’t have a favourite author or genre and will easily get lost in a love story or get pulled into a psychological thriller. As an indie author, she holds a special torch for fellow self-published writers, often championing the underdogs of the literary world.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">Outside of writing, Edie enjoys moments with her family, her three children, and long runs with her dog—her special way to clear her mind and gather new inspirations.</p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6244237513767692895.post-36634842069394166202023-08-22T04:32:00.004-07:002023-08-22T04:40:48.236-07:00Interview with Dalton Roberts Author of Fallen Divinities<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJRXBZMzh54XFtT1lbAwNoGD5THvZV_oOujaZBq-ieoCfw-1M38Z9Z1B9m0EAS2XfxahWhnau99RZdxcfgP-AaOn4j3TRgSuNEzKt6HHWcWJd5uGNU3k3yeVk8OZEEzAs93Ikc9cpb-aa68WJZhmkBCadkNHTNDQysYummxvNDG9AMnITL-Aw9gt8o9E9Q/s1080/author%20interview%20instagram%20(13).png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="1080" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJRXBZMzh54XFtT1lbAwNoGD5THvZV_oOujaZBq-ieoCfw-1M38Z9Z1B9m0EAS2XfxahWhnau99RZdxcfgP-AaOn4j3TRgSuNEzKt6HHWcWJd5uGNU3k3yeVk8OZEEzAs93Ikc9cpb-aa68WJZhmkBCadkNHTNDQysYummxvNDG9AMnITL-Aw9gt8o9E9Q/w400-h400/author%20interview%20instagram%20(13).png" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: 16px;">Digital Book Nook recently caught up with Dalton Roberts, author of “Fallen Divinities: In Other Worlds Part II.” We are excited to share this insightful interview with our readers today. </span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">When did you first discover that you enjoy writing and wanted to become a published author? </span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">I have this clear memory from 5th grade of writing a Halloween ‘horror’ story about a kid who finds out his parents were ghosts. I honestly don’t even think it was an assignment, I just wrote it on my own. And I was hooked. </p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">Over the years I continued writing short stories here and there but it wasn’t until I was reading a book by an indie author a few years back that the thought of writing one myself really struck me as doable. I thought it was a good story, very creative, but reading it I really felt like ‘I could write this. I could do this.’ I worked on a few projects the next few years, and these <em style="box-sizing: inherit;">In Other Worlds</em> stories pushed their way to the front of the line to be the ones I published first.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">What is your favorite and the most challenging aspect of writing? </span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">My favorite part about writing is easily the creation aspect. I’ll write a scene, then go back and read over it and think ‘That exists now. I just created something out of nowhere and now it reads like fact.’ Hope that isn’t too megalomaniacal of me to say, but it’s the truth. It’s a lot of fun.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">The biggest challenge for me has been pacing and burn out. I will dive in and write a third of my first draft in a couple of weeks, and then I’ll feel like I need to step away from it because it becomes too much. Then I’ll spend some time away and think about what’s next, and dive back in a few weeks later. It’s worked for me to this point, but I’d really like to have a more steady process end-to-end.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">Tell us about your latest release. </span></p><div class="wp-block-image" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"><figure class="alignright size-large is-resized" style="box-sizing: inherit; display: table; float: right; margin: 0.5em 0px 0.5em 1em;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BVG8BD7M/" style="background-color: transparent; box-sizing: inherit; color: #0074d9; font-weight: 700; text-decoration-line: none;"><img alt="" class="wp-image-5485" data-attachment-id="5485" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-caption="" data-image-description="" data-image-meta="{"aperture":"0","credit":"","camera":"","caption":"","created_timestamp":"0","copyright":"","focal_length":"0","iso":"0","shutter_speed":"0","title":"","orientation":"0"}" data-image-title="51f6o2z7n6l" data-large-file="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/08/51f6o2z7n6l.jpeg?w=313" data-medium-file="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/08/51f6o2z7n6l.jpeg?w=188" data-orig-file="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/08/51f6o2z7n6l.jpeg" data-orig-size="313,500" data-permalink="https://digitalbooknook.com/2023/08/22/interview-with-dalton-roberts-author-of-fallen-divinities/51f6o2z7n6l/" height="258" sizes="(max-width: 162px) 100vw, 162px" src="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/08/51f6o2z7n6l.jpeg?w=313" srcset="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/08/51f6o2z7n6l.jpeg?w=162 162w, https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/08/51f6o2z7n6l.jpeg?w=94 94w, https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/08/51f6o2z7n6l.jpeg?w=188 188w, https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/08/51f6o2z7n6l.jpeg 313w" style="border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; height: 258px; max-width: 100%; vertical-align: middle; width: 162px;" width="162" /></a></figure></div><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><em style="box-sizing: inherit;">Fallen Divinities</em> pulls back the veil, so to speak, on humankind’s relationship with their creators as they work together to rebuild civilization. The events of <em style="box-sizing: inherit;">Singularity Dawn</em> have also unleashed a new group of deities on the world, setting up a classic good vs. evil showdown. While the themes of deities and good vs. evil carry throughout the book, at its core it’s a story about a family fighting through every possible barrier to be reunited.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">How did you come up with the title of your book? </span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">The title has a bit of a double meaning. Figuratively, it relates to the image of our creators being shattered in some respects, while the introduction of the new race of deities occurs quite literally by falling from the sky.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">What do you hope readers are able to get from reading your story?</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">An escape, plain and simple. The stories I’ve most enjoyed over the years allowed me to get lost in them for a little while, and I hope I can pass that on to others. I’ll definitely give them opportunities to explore topics they may not have thought of before. Maybe they’ll want to look up who Sariel is and wonder where I pulled his name from. If so, great. If not, I hope I entertained them, and maybe cost them a few hours of sleep one night when they wanted to finish my book.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">Who are some of your favorite authors? </span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">Stephen king has undeniably had a huge influence on me, and is the author I have read the most through the years. I am also a big fan of his son, Joe Hill. When I want to get away from thrillers/supernatural, Pete Hamill is a goto for me. And then I also enjoy the mysteries of Harlan Coben and Ed McBain.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">Do you have any advice for writers looking to get published?</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">Be humble and appreciate every milestone. Try not to get caught up in your book ranking or even rating. Appreciate that first sale, then when your sales reach double digits, and triple… Those are all great accomplishments, in my opinion. Don’t expect that readers are going to find you on their own and your amazing book is just going to take off. You’re going to have to pour money and time into marketing your book, and it’s probably not going to race up the charts, but when your audience does find you, little by little, it’s incredibly rewarding. </p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">Also, don’t lose your mind over a one-star review/rating. Hopefully, it’ll just be one out of many positive ones, and it’s sort of a right of passage. Find me any book, movie, album, painting in history that doesn’t have someone willing to say ‘Meh, I hate it.’ about it.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">About the Author</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">Follow Dalton: <a href="https://twitter.com/DaltonsTweets" style="background-color: transparent; box-sizing: inherit; color: #0074d9; font-weight: 700; text-decoration-line: none;">Twitter</a> | <a href="https://www.facebook.com/drobertsauthor" style="background-color: transparent; box-sizing: inherit; color: #0074d9; font-weight: 700; text-decoration-line: none;">Facebook</a> | <a href="https://www.instagram.com/ridgecrestwritings" style="background-color: transparent; box-sizing: inherit; color: #0074d9; font-weight: 700; text-decoration-line: none;">Instagram</a> | <a href="https://www.mindofdalton.com/" style="background-color: transparent; box-sizing: inherit; color: #0074d9; font-weight: 700; text-decoration-line: none;">Website</a></p><div class="wp-block-image" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"><figure class="alignleft size-large is-resized" style="box-sizing: inherit; display: table; float: left; margin: 0.5em 1em 0.5em 0px;"><img alt="" class="wp-image-5483" data-attachment-id="5483" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-caption="" data-image-description="" data-image-meta="{"aperture":"0","credit":"","camera":"","caption":"","created_timestamp":"0","copyright":"","focal_length":"0","iso":"0","shutter_speed":"0","title":"","orientation":"0"}" data-image-title="1761be78-7ed1-4f51-804d-0dee7989ba9d" data-large-file="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/08/1761be78-7ed1-4f51-804d-0dee7989ba9d.jpg?w=863" data-medium-file="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/08/1761be78-7ed1-4f51-804d-0dee7989ba9d.jpg?w=272" data-orig-file="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/08/1761be78-7ed1-4f51-804d-0dee7989ba9d.jpg" data-orig-size="1080,1192" data-permalink="https://digitalbooknook.com/2023/08/22/interview-with-dalton-roberts-author-of-fallen-divinities/1761be78-7ed1-4f51-804d-0dee7989ba9d/" height="211" sizes="(max-width: 191px) 100vw, 191px" src="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/08/1761be78-7ed1-4f51-804d-0dee7989ba9d.jpg?w=928" srcset="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/08/1761be78-7ed1-4f51-804d-0dee7989ba9d.jpg?w=191 191w, https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/08/1761be78-7ed1-4f51-804d-0dee7989ba9d.jpg?w=382 382w, https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/08/1761be78-7ed1-4f51-804d-0dee7989ba9d.jpg?w=136 136w, https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2023/08/1761be78-7ed1-4f51-804d-0dee7989ba9d.jpg?w=272 272w" style="border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; height: 211px; max-width: 100%; vertical-align: middle; width: 191px;" width="191" /></figure></div><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">After many years of living in the bustling city, Dalton Roberts now resides on the crest of a ridge in the scenic Hudson Valley. <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
<!-- wp:paragraph -->
<p>This writing contest was started by bestselling author L. Ron Hubbard to help discover and nurture new authors. There is really nothing quite like it. As contest judge Brandon Sanderson states, “Writers of the Future is the most important award in the community.”</p>
<!-- /wp:paragraph -->
<!-- wp:paragraph -->
<p>The judges are what set this anthology apart from all others. They include Brandon Sanderson, Orson Scott Card, Nnedi Okorafor, Kevin J. Anderson, Brian Herbert, Jody Lynn Nye, Larry Niven, Robert J. Sawyer, Katherine Kurtz, and many others. They select the best of the best from stories sent in from around the world. The stories are judged blind, making it a fair competition for all authors and illustrators who enter from anywhere in the world and of any color, gender, or age.</p>
<!-- /wp:paragraph -->
<!-- wp:paragraph -->
<p>It is free to enter, there are cash prizes, and the winners are paid professional rates and maintain their rights. Amazing.</p>

This book takes a unique approach to parenting by incorporating spiritual principles into the mix. Raising a child in the way of the Lord is a very important choice that every parent should seek to follow.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px; text-align: start;">Now, Godly parenting, which I would like to simply define as an act of raising a child in God’s ways, entails a lot of essential factors. Proverbs 22:6 says “Train up a child, in the way he should go and when he’s old, he will not depart from it”. Achieving this requires substantial sacrifices from parents, including ignoring societal opinions and norms, and dedicating time, effort, and hard work.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px; text-align: start;">This book will show you practical bible examples of how to train your child in this conventional world where public opinion seems to be the bedrock of every decision-making. The book entails how to be a Christian parent in a world where everything, including the common cartoon your child watches, must be censored.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px; text-align: start;">So, sit back and enjoy the journey of discovering how to raise your child in a Godly manner!</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px; text-align: start;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">On Track: A Blueprint for a Unique Approach to Godly Parenting is available at Amazon on Kindle and in paperback.</span></p><div class="wp-block-image" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: start;"><figure class="aligncenter size-large" style="box-sizing: inherit; clear: both; display: table; margin: 0px auto;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Track-Blueprint-Unique-Approach-Parenting/dp/B0BW1YLY66" style="background-color: transparent; box-sizing: inherit; color: #0074d9; font-weight: 700; text-decoration-line: none;"><img alt="" class="wp-image-3285" data-attachment-id="3285" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-caption="" data-image-description="" data-image-meta="{"aperture":"0","credit":"","camera":"","caption":"","created_timestamp":"0","copyright":"","focal_length":"0","iso":"0","shutter_speed":"0","title":"","orientation":"0"}" data-image-title="amazonbutton" data-large-file="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2021/03/amazonbutton.jpg?w=198" data-medium-file="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2021/03/amazonbutton.jpg?w=198" data-orig-file="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2021/03/amazonbutton.jpg" data-orig-size="198,88" data-permalink="https://digitalbooknook.com/amazonbutton/" sizes="(max-width: 198px) 100vw, 198px" src="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2021/03/amazonbutton.jpg?w=198" srcset="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2021/03/amazonbutton.jpg 198w, https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2021/03/amazonbutton.jpg?w=150 150w" style="border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; height: auto; max-width: 100%; vertical-align: middle;" /></a></figure></div></div><p><br /></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6244237513767692895.post-66985168978205001252023-01-12T15:19:00.002-08:002023-01-12T15:19:14.698-08:00 Driving Unclaimed Cargo by Rick Mammoth<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBwoGeg_yDfEFwjFBajiMTabo93JA-xym9lJ54y11W_p1jsi-HcY2OZSa-BwSpeTtFzVYn_HxbwTAlxXqLzIzgDevuOcgsWHWyosReyT1U1QFl0qKMADr0nIZ5THlvVTsJ0ySKrcB-8UKFIl2ULEVubAPWNOfM1g_pS1zh_k3YGCZCun86Bm057lq6/s1920/mockup-of-a-paperback-book-in-a-plain-setting-33643%20(17).png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1470" data-original-width="1920" height="490" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBwoGeg_yDfEFwjFBajiMTabo93JA-xym9lJ54y11W_p1jsi-HcY2OZSa-BwSpeTtFzVYn_HxbwTAlxXqLzIzgDevuOcgsWHWyosReyT1U1QFl0qKMADr0nIZ5THlvVTsJ0ySKrcB-8UKFIl2ULEVubAPWNOfM1g_pS1zh_k3YGCZCun86Bm057lq6/w640-h490/mockup-of-a-paperback-book-in-a-plain-setting-33643%20(17).png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">When the US military decides it’s in their strategic interest to update their nuclear assets, they choose to move the American nuclear arsenal to locations all over the United States. Preventing the currently centralized location from being wiped out too quickly. Even if a 99% success rate is achieved, one failure could occur. A bomb is misplaced, and it’ll take the work of a secret internal government organization and its operatives to bring it back. However, to reduce the number of connections back to the US government they decide to use an inexperienced non-government employee to do most of the work. His inexperience is noticeable. That tragic accident was never explained, and it was just the beginning of the terror. In the decades that followed, nearly two dozen additional deaths occurred in or around the lighthouse including cold-blooded murder, suicide, unexplained accidents and disappearances, the slaughter of an entire family, and the inexplicable death of a Hollywood starlet who was filming a movie on the grounds.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">The lighthouse was finally shuttered tight in 1988 and a security fence was erected around the property. Firstly, it relates how the increasing knowledge in genomics is affecting healthcare by allowing the focus to be on specific genes that affect a particular condition. Even if a “bad” gene is there, its expression can often be discouraged by the use of supplements as well as fasting and a healthier lifestyle.</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">It used to be that we had to guess what supplements to take or what types of diets we should follow, but now we can know if we have genes that can cause, or are causing, specific problems and can meet the problems head on. We can target nutrition, supplements, and lifestyle to “unlock our genetic superpowers,” as the author says.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">The book is written in a clear, direct, and accessible style, which is a big help to the reader when trying to grasp an essentially difficult topic. The author’s fascination with his field and the incredible speed with which it is evolving as new scientific discoveries are made, gives the book a quality that draws the reader into it and keeps him or her there. The book imparts knowledge, hope, and enthusiasm.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">A basic breakdown of this book is as follows: The 1st part of the book breaks down the science of genomics with the most up to date scientific information in a user-friendly language. The 2nd part of the book provides information on how epigenetics, environment, exercise, nutrition, food and supplements can help you achieve your optimum health. Exposome or how your genes interact with your environment and prevention based on your genome and/or how to manage health conditions from a genomics perspective is also discussed in great detail. The 3rd part of the book talks about the most common mutations in humans and how to manage them with genomics. It also discusses how to achieve longevity, living to 100 and anti-aging recommendations based on your genome. The last chapter provides information about the future of Genomics and the possibility of bringing back extinct animals and perhaps the dead!</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">Understanding Genomics: How Nutrition, Supplements, and Lifestyle Can Help You Unlock Your Genetic Superpowers by Marios Michael DC CNS cFMP is available at Amazon.</span></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6244237513767692895.post-70517776601759903832022-05-23T04:00:00.005-07:002022-05-23T04:00:00.163-07:00In the Blink of My Eye by Lynne Biss<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0BRA8p2be2JafFkuS9rBAG9XQm934WMeE90obbbgoR8N46S8uiZDW7PUaH2TU6WDyn-DGh8F-2GRsAmJ_R4d2w8yTMtyxXz9LCIij8TydpzeU7R2OyWUhoBmkAN1Vm9STdm7N0Pq1exXjn9jEWYgKG9GLd2iMIcb1AX7w2exgJlWEEWhIqY40TbW2/s1920/digitalbooknook%20pic%20(30).png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1440" data-original-width="1920" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0BRA8p2be2JafFkuS9rBAG9XQm934WMeE90obbbgoR8N46S8uiZDW7PUaH2TU6WDyn-DGh8F-2GRsAmJ_R4d2w8yTMtyxXz9LCIij8TydpzeU7R2OyWUhoBmkAN1Vm9STdm7N0Pq1exXjn9jEWYgKG9GLd2iMIcb1AX7w2exgJlWEEWhIqY40TbW2/w640-h480/digitalbooknook%20pic%20(30).png" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><!-- wp:paragraph -->

The staff at NASA tracking this potential cataclysm learn something else about this wandering star. They learn that it’s being guided by a means other than its own. The asteroid is intercepted by alien ships towing it into the heart of Africa before vanishing underneath a holographic projection of the Congo jungle. America sends in a drone to look for these aliens when they discover a hidden world deep beneath the planet’s hollow surface. After learning that mysterious beings have been living under their very noses this whole time, the new President sends in a group of special forces to make contact with the alien civilization living deep under the African jungles. The U.S. troops captured by these underground aliens after battling a horde of cave monsters and are to be taken to the King for judgement. But before the Americans go to meet this King of the underworld, the hidden kingdom goes to war with Satan and a group of banished fallen angels from heaven. The fallen angels formally known as the Watchers now aligned with Satan call themselves the Fallen Ones. The Fallen and Satan following a prophecy will stop at nothing to release their imprisoned angelic brethren and bring the war of Armageddon to fruition. Find out in book one in a new action packed political and spiritual thriller series called The Congo Conspiracy. This story is fully illustrated and is like a movie on paper. It gives an alternative narrative to the biblical scriptures and the people within them that’s pro black and brown. Besides a story, it also gives the authors worldview of how the United States operates, dabbles in conspiracy, politics, warfare and some historical facts that have been skewed.</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">The Congo Conspiracy: First Contact by Donavan Speight is available at Amazon on Kindle and in paperback.</span></p><div class="wp-block-image" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 1em;"><figure class="aligncenter size-large" style="box-sizing: inherit; clear: both; display: table; margin: 0px auto;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09X1WY4TG" style="background-color: transparent; box-sizing: inherit; color: #0074d9; font-weight: 700; text-decoration-line: none;"><img alt="" class="wp-image-3285" data-attachment-id="3285" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-caption="" data-image-description="" data-image-meta="{"aperture":"0","credit":"","camera":"","caption":"","created_timestamp":"0","copyright":"","focal_length":"0","iso":"0","shutter_speed":"0","title":"","orientation":"0"}" data-image-title="amazonbutton" data-large-file="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2021/03/amazonbutton.jpg?w=198" data-medium-file="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2021/03/amazonbutton.jpg?w=198" data-orig-file="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2021/03/amazonbutton.jpg" data-orig-size="198,88" data-permalink="https://digitalbooknook.com/amazonbutton/" sizes="(max-width: 198px) 100vw, 198px" src="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2021/03/amazonbutton.jpg?w=198" srcset="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2021/03/amazonbutton.jpg 198w, https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2021/03/amazonbutton.jpg?w=150 150w" style="border-radius: inherit; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; height: auto; max-width: 100%; vertical-align: middle;" /></a></figure></div><figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-amazon wp-block-embed-amazon" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 1em; overflow-wrap: break-word;"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper" style="box-sizing: inherit; position: relative;"><div class="embed-amazon" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="550" src="https://read.amazon.com/kp/card?preview=inline&linkCode=kpd&ref_=k4w_oembed_rKy1nLsBzBgfis&asin=B09VG3SCLX&tag=kpembed-20" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin-bottom: 24px; max-width: 100%;" title="The Congo Conspiracy: First Contact" type="text/html" width="863"></iframe></div></div></figure>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6244237513767692895.post-33728725256538620862022-05-09T11:08:00.003-07:002022-05-09T11:08:42.227-07:00Young Marco by David Wills<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkUDzriuEDOXpgMESczIpuI-LqS2RWCzDS4HkbdnnxPn9kLfzibitx4Kyi7l9_Szc1m16cRF3lG88e_z4EDId05E_ANq4RgNmZcSV7Glgr_AYCfp56lrYCPkepbRXmXHpgcHpBM1eusCTY4v0uv3-INBacqvp8Jf_CJMe2mDwbHpPBFo5VBbdhjrsBJg/s1920/digitalbooknook%20pic%20(24).png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1440" data-original-width="1920" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkUDzriuEDOXpgMESczIpuI-LqS2RWCzDS4HkbdnnxPn9kLfzibitx4Kyi7l9_Szc1m16cRF3lG88e_z4EDId05E_ANq4RgNmZcSV7Glgr_AYCfp56lrYCPkepbRXmXHpgcHpBM1eusCTY4v0uv3-INBacqvp8Jf_CJMe2mDwbHpPBFo5VBbdhjrsBJg/w640-h480/digitalbooknook%20pic%20(24).png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p><span face="Arimo, sans-serif" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-size: 16px;">A distraught young woman called Natalie comes home to find a journal on her coffee table, accompanied by a note from its author. box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">When did you first discover that you enjoy writing and wanted to become a published author?</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">This fire started not by a passion for writing, but, a passion for the subject matter at hand. It has been very difficult for me to sit back and watch the issues plaguing our American policing system and not being able to be the change agent I wanted to be. I then formulated a plan to use a book as a vehicle to promote change.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">What is your favorite and the most challenging aspect of writing?</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">My favorite aspect of writing has to be possessing the ability to articulate exactly what I have experienced and feel to anyone willing to read about it. The most challenging aspect of writing is the feeling of sharing your work for the world to see. We are held accountable for every stroke of the pen.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">Tell us about your latest release.</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">My recent release is called Police Fragility, the book is based on the distrust between race and law enforcement. The book explores the dark history of law enforcement and what we can do to promote change. </p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">How did you come up with the title of your book?</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">Police Fragility in my opinion depicts the state my beloved profession is currently under; the American policing system is currently in a vulnerable state. The title is designed to encourage the uncomfortable conversations that can bond the fractured foundation. </p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">What do you hope readers are able to get from reading your story?</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">This is a two-part answer, first I hope members of the local, state, and federal government’s law enforcement and court systems become enlightened by the very dark origin of our profession and acknowledge it, show empathy, and start the healing process. On the other hand, I hope the Black community reads the book and finds comfort in the message that we hear your message, acknowledge our past, and have faith in what our future holds.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">Who are some of your favorite authors?</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">My favorite author is Lee Cockerell. Lee’s Creating Magic was a fantastic book on leadership that anyone in a management or leadership position MUST read. Lee’s work has been life-changing for me since adopting his leadership style has enriched me with promotions at work and the manifestation of my book.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">Do you have any advice for writers looking to get published?</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">The best advice that I can give to any aspiring author looking to publish is to stick to what fuels your passion and never give up or be discouraged. When a door closes it’s not a failure, it just means that is not the path for you.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">ABOUT THE AUTHOR</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">Joseph Schaefer was born in Miami Beach, Florida, the middle child of three. Joseph’s passion for writing ignited while completing his undergraduate degree with the University of Florida. Joseph joined the American policing system at the age of fourteen as a Pembroke Pines Police Explorer. Twenty-four years later Joseph is currently serving as a Commander for a South Florida Police Department. Joseph’s first book is Police Fragility which has yielded phenomenal reviews.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">Police Fragility is available at Barnes and Noble.</span></p><div class="wp-block-image" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 1em;"><figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized" style="box-sizing: inherit; clear: both; display: table; margin: 0px auto;"><a href="https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/police-fragility-joseph-schaefer/1141264991?ean=9798765550946" style="background-color: transparent; box-sizing: inherit; color: #0074d9; font-weight: 700; text-decoration-line: none;"><img alt="" class="wp-image-4363" data-attachment-id="4363" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-caption="" data-image-description="" data-image-meta="{"aperture":"0","credit":"","camera":"","caption":"","created_timestamp":"0","copyright":"","focal_length":"0","iso":"0","shutter_speed":"0","title":"","orientation":"0"}" data-image-title="Barnes__Noble_Logo_full" data-large-file="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2022/04/barnes__noble_logo_full.png?w=863" data-medium-file="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2022/04/barnes__noble_logo_full.png?w=300" data-orig-file="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2022/04/barnes__noble_logo_full.png" data-orig-size="5000,1266" data-permalink="https://digitalbooknook.com/2022/04/26/interview-with-joseph-schaefer-author-of-police-fragility/barnes__noble_logo_full/" height="73" loading="lazy" sizes="(max-width: 289px) 100vw, 289px" src="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2022/04/barnes__noble_logo_full.png?w=1024" srcset="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2022/04/barnes__noble_logo_full.png?w=289 289w, https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2022/04/barnes__noble_logo_full.png?w=578 578w, https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2022/04/barnes__noble_logo_full.png?w=150 150w, https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2022/04/barnes__noble_logo_full.png?w=300 300w" style="border-radius: inherit; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; height: auto; max-width: 100%; vertical-align: middle;" width="289" /></a></figure></div><div class="sharedaddy sd-like-enabled sd-sharing-enabled" id="jp-post-flair" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; clear: both; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; padding-top: 0.5em;"><div class="sharedaddy sd-sharing-enabled" style="box-sizing: inherit; clear: both;"></div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6244237513767692895.post-62965616030552399792022-04-26T16:30:00.002-07:002022-04-26T16:30:40.928-07:00L. Ron Hubbard. You may know him for his sci-fi classic <em style="box-sizing: inherit;">Battlefield Earth</em>. The purpose, as he stated, was to create “a means for new and budding writers to have a chance for their creative efforts to be seen and acknowledged.” </p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">The best part is that the stories are selected by top sci-fi and fantasy authors, like Brandon Sanderson, Nnedi Okorafor, Orson Scott Card, Kevin J. Anderson, Jody Lynn Nye, Tim Powers, Larry Niven, Katherine Kurtz, and many more. How would you like to have one of them read your story?</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">Also, any new writer can enter the contest. It is free, and because it is judged blind, it does not matter where you come from, your color, gender, or age—everyone has an equal chance to win. You just need to be GOOD. </p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">Now that you know what this is all about, I want to tell you about this year’s collection. </p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">In addition to all the amazing new authors, Volume 38 also has bonus stories by Frank Herbert (I am sure you have heard of <em style="box-sizing: inherit;">Dune</em>!), L. Ron Hubbard, and David Farland as well as articles with advice for new writers.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">One of the reviews says it is a “literary smorgasbord where each new story comes with a feeling of excitement and mystery. Itʼs a binge read. Just one more, you think, and the next thing you know the entire book is gone!”<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" /><br style="box-sizing: inherit;" /><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">Here is the Amazon description:</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">In the World of Science Fiction…</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">…this Anthology stands out for three reasons:</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px;">The stories. They develop an innovative, globally popular video game, that soon gets away from them, technically, and takes on a sinister twist, that is good for the many but lethal for the few, presenting the two young developers with a moral dilemma. This occurs, at a time, when the two are developing romantic feelings, for each other. The stress of the dilemma, they face, is greatly reduced by a new friend, an older gentleman, of stunning demeanor, who is very “family” oriented and is quite adept at managing the type of “problems” the two face. He appears almost out of the ether and becomes a prominent part of their lives. Plots of climate change, technology, romance, murder and especially political and corporate power highlight the essence of the story and present the readers with a dilemma, of their own… I’m a good person, but… what would I do? Their answer may surprise the reader and be a cause for some soul searching.</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 24px; overflow-wrap: break-word; text-align: left;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">A Very Lethal Intervention is available at Amazon on Kindle and in paperback.</span></p><div class="wp-block-image" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 1em; text-align: left;"><figure class="aligncenter size-large" style="box-sizing: inherit; clear: both; display: table; margin: 0px auto;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/VERY-LETHAL-INTERVENTION-Travers-Knight-ebook/dp/B09V74G1ZN/" style="background-color: transparent; box-sizing: inherit; color: #0074d9; font-weight: 700; text-decoration-line: none;"><img alt="" class="wp-image-3285" data-attachment-id="3285" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-caption="" data-image-description="" data-image-meta="{"aperture":"0","credit":"","camera":"","caption":"","created_timestamp":"0","copyright":"","focal_length":"0","iso":"0","shutter_speed":"0","title":"","orientation":"0"}" data-image-title="amazonbutton" data-large-file="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2021/03/amazonbutton.jpg?w=198" data-medium-file="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2021/03/amazonbutton.jpg?w=198" data-orig-file="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2021/03/amazonbutton.jpg" data-orig-size="198,88" data-permalink="https://digitalbooknook.com/amazonbutton/" sizes="(max-width: 198px) 100vw, 198px" src="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2021/03/amazonbutton.jpg?w=198" srcset="https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2021/03/amazonbutton.jpg 198w, https://digitalbooknook.files.wordpress.com/2021/03/amazonbutton.jpg?w=150 150w" style="border-radius: inherit; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; height: auto; max-width: 100%; vertical-align: middle;" /></a></figure></div><figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-amazon wp-block-embed-amazon" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: inherit; color: #222222; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 1em; overflow-wrap: break-word; text-align: left;"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper" style="box-sizing: inherit; position: relative;"><div class="embed-amazon" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="550" src="https://read.amazon.com/kp/card?preview=inline&linkCode=kpd&ref_=k4w_oembed_DukIzkpGuKdYOE&asin=B09V74G1ZN&tag=kpembed-20" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin-bottom: 24px; max-width: 100%;" title="A VERY LETHAL INTERVENTION" type="text/html" width="863"></iframe></div></div></figure></div><p><br /></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
